Kelvin Reilly - InMoto Corse

Round 3 - Oulton Park

Reilly Reigns Supreme

Kelvin Reilly continued his great start to the 2009 KTM RC8 Super Cup with an impressive win at round 3. Reilly conquered the bad weather and out shone the rest of the field to take victory at Oulton Park.

The InMoto Corse rider inherited victory in the opening two rounds at Brands Hatch following the post race technical disqualification of Dave Wood. The victory continues his winning run and extends his lead of the championship to 22 points.

Sunday's Qualifying session was a disappointing affair for Reilly, who never really settled around the technical Cheshire track. Having posted his fastest lap early on, Reilly struggled to impose himself on the session and could only manage third place on the grid. Reilly would line up for the race behind his main title rivals Dave Wood and team mate Pauli Pekkanen./p>

The cold and damp weather, on race day, made for treacherous track conditions. The extent of the challenge was highlighted when pole position man, Dave Wood, crashed out on the warm up lap. Reilly made a cautious start to the race as all the riders gingerly felt their way around the opening lap. Sitting in second place, Reilly was happy to bide his time and assess the conditions before launching his assault. Reilly took the lead on lap 5 as he forced his way down the inside of Cascades. After getting his nose in front, Reilly never looked back and in the end cruised to victory. Reilly took the spoils by over 4 seconds from team mate Pauli Pekkanen to complete an impressive clean sweep for the InMoto team.

Reilly leads the championship standings and will look forward to his next outing at Donington Park in three weeks time.
