Formwise/Astro Suzuki's Luke Quigley is counting the days until the opening
round of his British Superstock Championship campaign at Brands Hatch this
weekend. The curtain raiser will take place around the short Indy layout of the
Kent circuit, with Superstock track action beginning on Friday.
Having completed pre season tests at Alcarras, Brands Hatch and Mallory Park, Quigley
feels ready for what promises to be one of the most keenly contested series this
season. The British Superstock entry list currently stands at 56 riders
including numerous British Champions. Reigning British Supersport Champion Steve
Plater; Three times British Supersport Champion Karl Harris; Former British
Supersport and Superstock Champion Glen Richards; 2005 British Superstock
Champion Lee Jackson and TT legend John McGuinness will be amongst the
favourites for the 2010 crown.
Quigley commented: "We have had a few good tests over the last couple of weeks
and hopefully it's going to stand us in good stead for what's sure to be an
exciting series. There are a lot of good riders in it this year, it's got to be
one of the strongest line-ups the British Superstock Championship has seen."
"We didn't have the best of luck with the weather and there has been a bit of
waiting around, especially when we were out in Spain, but we have had decent
days at both Brands and Mallory."
"I have had a go on the new Metzeler Racetec Interact tyres, and they feel really
good. We have had both bikes up and running and I have managed to get a fair few
laps under my belt. Hopefully we have a good base from which to start at Brands
Hatch on Friday."
