Quigley has been busily preparing the new bike since the last round at Knockhill
and was only able to get his first taste of riding it today (Wednesday). After
ironing out some early problems, Quigley was able to get ten laps of practice at
Mallory Park. He now heads to Snetterton hoping to repeat the form he showed
last time out; as he raced to a 2nd place finish.
Quigley commented: "We have made the decision to switch to the BMW based on the
performance they have shown over the opening seven rounds. I have seen how much
faster they are in a straight line than anything else on the grid. Obviously we
had the Suzuki working pretty well and knew where we were with the set-up, but
when you give away so much top speed its a huge disadvantage."
"I got a few laps on the new bike today just to get a feel for it really. I had
some problems with the front end early on, but we have made some progress on
that already. Hopefully if we get a good couple of sessions on Friday then we
can be on the pace this weekend."
